One Bag That Does Just About Everything
Uncharted Supply Co. - The Vault Duffel
Product Review
The Vault Duffel is one rugged, versatile bag built for outdoor adventures, everyday use, and business travel.
There's no shortage of duffel bags on the market. Walk into any sporting goods store or scroll through your social media feed and you'll find hundreds of options claiming to be the toughest, lightest, or most versatile bag ever made.
Most of them do a pretty good job
The Uncharted Supply Co. Vault Duffel is built different - it doesn't force you to choose between your outdoor adventures and everyday life - you can have both!
Whether I'm loading it with sun hoodies, wading boots and fly boxes for a weekend chasing redfish, packing layers for a camping trip in the mountains, organizing my hunting gear for a weekend trip to the hunt camp, or throwing my laptop and a few changes of clothes for a work trip, the Vault has become the first bag I reach for every time I leave the house.
If you're looking for one bag that can handle just about anything you throw at it, the Vault Duffel is worth a hard look.

Built for the Outdoors
The first thing you'll notice is that this isn't your average duffel bag.
The Vault is built with heavy-duty materials that immediately ensure confidence. It feels like a piece of equipment rather than luggage, and that's exactly what I want when I'm bouncing down logging roads, tossing gear into the bed of my truck, or loading up my boat before daylight for a full day on the water.
Outdoor gear gets muddy. It gets wet. It gets covered in fish slime, sand, dirt, leaves, pluff mud, blood, feathers, and whatever else the elements throw at you.
The reinforced construction, durable materials, and quality hardware give you confidence that it can handle years of abuse season after season, wherever those may be.
A good duffel shouldn't make you worry about any of that - The Vault's rugged construction shrugs it off.
The large main compartment makes it easy to pack bulky items like rain gear, insulated jackets, waders, boots, extra clothing, or camera equipment without playing a game of Tetris every time you zip it shut.
Instead of digging through multiple small compartments trying to find something, everything is right where you need it. Not to mention the hassle of dealing with a busting bag or broken zipper in the middle of your outing. Talk about a BUZZKILL.
For anglers, hunters, campers, and overlanders, that simplicity is a huge advantage.
Load it.
Zip it.
And Go.
Organized Without Being Complicated
Some bags try so hard to be organized that they become frustrating. As an engineer, I can appreciate organization as much as anyone, but not every piece of gear needs to be engineered down to the nanometer.
The Vault strikes a nice balance between engineered organization and adaptability.
There are enough pockets to keep smaller essentials separated without turning the inside into a maze of zippers.
Headlamp? Easy to find.
Phone charger? Exactly where you left it.
Extra Underwear? Left of the socks.
First aid supplies, batteries, licenses, gloves, or snacks all have a place without taking away from the spacious main compartment - That's one of my favorite features.
It keeps gear organized while still allowing you to pack odd-shaped outdoor equipment that never seems to fit in more structured luggage.
Business Bound
While the Vault was built with the outdoors in mind, I was surprised by how often it ends up traveling with me for work.
As someone balancing engineering projects during the week and weekend outdoor adventures whenever I can sneak away, having one gear bag that transitions between both worlds is practical, proficient, and it looks pretty cool in a hotel lobby.
For two or three day business trips, it's become an excellent alternative to rolling luggage. I can throw it over my shoulder or wear it on my back. It also makes an excellent carry on for a flight.
There's plenty of room for clothes, toiletries, a pair of boots or dress shoes, and all the small accessories that usually end up scattered in your standard carry on. Because it is not confined to a rigid frame, you can make it fit under the seat or in the overhead bin.
It also looks clean enough that you don't feel out of place walking into a hotel or client meeting. It’s a head turner when you show up to the conference. I hope you're prepared to be setting a new trend - “Outdoor Maxxing.”
Outdoor bags scream "backcountry" or “look at me, I hike” ; Most travel bags aren't built for the outdoors.
The Vault Duffel sits comfortably in both categories.
Final Thoughts
The best gear is the gear you use all the time - your “Every Day Carry” - it’s what you reach for on your way out the door.
That's probably the biggest compliment I can give the Uncharted Supply Co. Vault Duffel.
It started as an outdoor gear bag, but has slowly become my go-to bag for everything.
Fishing trips. Camping weekends. Hunting trips. Business travel. Long weekends away. Road trips. Overnight floats - It handles all of them without missing a beat.
If you're tired of owning a different bag for every activity, the Vault Duffel offers a refreshing solution. It's rugged enough for the outdoors, organized enough for everyday use, and professional enough to carry through the airport or into a meeting on Monday morning. I'd rather buy one quality bag once than replace a cheaper one every couple of years.
Sometimes the best gear isn't the most specialized — it's the gear that's ready for wherever the next adventure takes you.
